Good Morning Respected Chief Guest 1 , Principal 1, VP 1, Headmistress 1 , and all other present in the gathering here.

Today is a very auspicious day. Today , we all are gathered here to celebrated the proud day for India, The Republic Day of India.

Before we begin, let me give you some valuable knowledge about Republic Day. This day is celebrated on January 26 every year to give honour to the longest constitution of the largest democracy in the World. This occasion marks the patriotic spirit within us and encourages us to be loyal and respectful towards our nation.

This occasion not only celebrates the constitution of India but also awards the various deserving heroes of our nation with bravery awards. Apart from that gems of our nation receive Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan , Padma Bhushan.

Light is symbol of  truth, knowledge and understanding. Darkness is the absence of light. This lightning ceremony also relates to life. We should seek knowledge and truth and devoid ourselves from falling into the dark trap of life. I would thank the dignitaries on stage

Drama is an art form. Drama fills our mind , purifies our mind and makes us more aware of our surroundings. Let us welcome our skit group/drama society with a hugest round of applause. This drama will surely make us more proud of our country and will surely develop a sense of fraternity and brotherhood amongst us.

Oh My God!!! What a skit by XYZ group! Guys, hats off!!! This skit surely made us recall about our glorious past , the beauty of this country and sacrifices of our nation’s heroes. This has made me held my head higher with more proud and respect.

We all know how important our Republic Day is!!! It is so important that the nation has declared it as a National Holiday.

But what productive activities could be done on this day in preschool or kindergartens.

Even a toddler to a small child can perform these craft activities.

Any child from Kindergarten, Preschool , LKG, UKG, Nursery , Class 1 , Class 2 can perform these activities.

  1. Map of India

     

    Let the child explore the map of India. Know about the states and union territories of India. What you can do is to print the map of India and ask the child to border/outline the map of India. Also , ask the child to locate the neighbouring countries of India.

  2. Make Paper Bags

    Papers bag are useful. Papers bags are handy too. Let the child make a paper bag and then later paint the paper bag with tri-colour or something else patriotic. Let the child bring out his creative side outside.

  3. Make National Flags of India

    This can be very informative too. The child can make national flag with the help of paper or with the help of ice-cream sticks. Also, make the child educate about the proper ratio of our national flag and its designer Pingali Venkayya.

  4. Play with clay

    Make a national flag and its base. Make it look like a flag hoisting stage. Let the child explore the beauty of clay , educate him about the proper use and mix of clay colours.

  5. National Value

    Coin tracing can also be a fun activity. Identification of proper currency notes can also be done. Educating about national tree, flower , etc could be done at toddler level.

Beating Retreat

This ceremony is very less known. This ceremony is a traditional ceremony. Beating Retreat marks the official completion of Republic Day celebration and this ceremony takes place on January 29 , three days after Republic Day.

This grand ceremony is held near Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Can you guess who is the chief of this prestigious ceremony?

ITS the PRESIDENT

More than 30 bands of army , navy and air-force together performs various intricate drill movement and they make beautiful and wonderful patterns, which would make you go in awe of the Indian Military Strength and their creative mind.

Also,

Traffic needs to be diverted as it needs to be conducted properly. In the evening, when the ceremony is over, Rashtrapati Bhavan and other vicinity buildings are lit up, which looks so so beautiful, that you will feel like the best place ever.

Usually the timings are from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Attractions are the foot-tapping music and soulful classical renditions. President rides in buggy down the Raisina Hill.

Performance by Army, Navy and Airforce would enthuse the audience with patriotism.

Last year in 2017 , The combined pipes and drums bands mesmerised the gathering with soulful strains of ‘Mony Musk’, ‘Jak Wilson’, ‘The Gael’ while the Tri-Services military band with accompaniment of Indian instruments regaled with ‘Yaman’, ‘Sky Lark’ and other renditions.

The ceremony traces its origins to the early 1950s when Major Roberts of the Army indigenously developed the unique ceremony of display by the massed bands to prove their mettle.

Just 1 month to go, we are eagerly waiting for this grand ceremony.

Republic Day Bravery(Child) Award Winners

On, January 26 , 2017 i.e. on 68th Republic Day, 16 boys and 8 girls were awarded with the bravery award.

The National(Child) Bravery Award are given every year to selected students who show tremendous fight and responsibility in the hour of the need.

Bravery Awards are organized every year, since 1957 to honour the talents of India at such a young age.

These children were honoured by PM Modi after closing ceremony.

They were also invited for special dinner at PM Modi’s special residence.
